What Incubator are you using?

Just wondered what incubators people are using? I’ve not needed an incubator for past few years and used to use with great success a homemade poly box incubator but was looking into possibly purchasing one this time round, what make model have you? how do you find temperature and humidity in it? Is your noisy when running? How do you find air circulation in the incubator?

I was in the same boat and the above was recommended from a fellow vendor up at last year’s Ulster Reptile Show. Decided to try the smaller model to see how good it was and honestly, I think it’s great. Temperature is slightly lower than the display/setting but there’s a 1C variance noted in the product description. Once that was fine tuned, it has remained constant. Humidity holds just fine as I only have a pin hole in the deli cups holding the medium and eggs and airflow is decent. I know some incubators can be expensive but, in the long run, I believe they are worth the investment. I would be interested to hear from others who use different makes of incubator too.

I’ve gone with a cheap incubator that got delivered today, it’s big enough to fit size of six cricket tubs and I hope in time I’ll out grow this one, but if it holds humidity and temperature ok then for €134 with delivery it’s fine for now, have to admit now it’s arrived the excitement and enthusiasm of the homemade polybox incubator made it all seems more special

Nice! You’ll put it through its paces I’m sure. I’ve only recently turned mine off but will say that the glass door and light have made inspection effortless. You’ll at least get to play around and see what the temps and humidity is like before eggs arrive (or so I assume?)

What will you be incubating?

I’ve nothing here that I’ve paired at min but corns Leo’s and hognose next season and with Hamm coming up who knows lol, but I was given a pair of Leo’s that had been kept together its clear she’s gravid and probably last of eggs this year but be rude not to incubate them, very much agree the glass door will be a bonus, at min it turned on with temperature and humidity digital gauge on each shelf to see how it’s working

Currently using a Wilbanks (240 I believe) more than enough space for my needs.

I added a Zigbee temp and humidity sensor that I have added to my home assistant so I can monitor remotely.

Homemade incubator… doing the job at the moment. Will be swooping out once this clutch hatches out.
