Leopard Gecko Breeders

Greetings All,

Just wanted to start a topic aimed at my fellow leopard gecko breeders. I’m not sure how many other breeders are out there so please do reply with what morphs you’re working with or hope to work with in the future. It’d be great to network on our little island.

I myself have a couple of small projects on the go. First is a Green and Tangerine RAPTOR group and secondly a “Monochromatic” bold stripe group that I hope to expand on in the coming seasons.

I’m planning on getting some Gem Snow and Bold Bells into my bold stripe group soon.

Thanks for reading,

KG

Would live to see some photos!

Also can i ask what type of incubator you use?

Of course, one of the Stalwarts of the gecko scene Leahys Lizards!

Are the Mack Snow BN geckos easy to distinguish from non snow BN? Also, do you find the amount of white with the Pandas is replicated in offspring or is it one of the random effects of eclipse gene?

Just some of this years hatchlings from the Green and Tangerine RAPTOR group.

I had used homemade incubators for years without issue but decided to invest in a commercial incubator and went with a HerpXotics incubator and have had great success. Looks awesome too

We have used home made years, but keep thinking about upgrading…

The old adage “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” springs to mind but, with leopard geckos, the need for precision when utilising the temperature sex determination makes the fine tuned commercial incubator a worth while purchase in my opinion. The one I bought also has cooling should the temperature of the room spike during warmer periods, helps avoid an army of males coming out of the incubator :joy:

Hi, it’s easy to tell if blacknight are macksnow they hatch with white markings instead of “dirty yellow” as they get older then some can be hard to tell so u need to keep track of them right out of the egg and keep a note of it

As for the “panda” it passes down , supersnow always have white legs , tip of tail and with visual eclipse they will have a white nose/snout more pronounced than non visual eclipse , so it’s just a given that supersnow will have the “markers” harder to tell if it’s eclipse or not , u need to know the genetics of the geckos Ur breeding , as ss hatch with black eyes regardless if they are eclipse or not ,

Obviously u can breed to get more of the pied look with supersnow blacknight eclipse , the eclipse factors into that.

Just getting back into geckos again myself after many years off. I will hopefully have a breeding group this time next year.
I purchased a juvenile green & tangerine raptor from @Khyber_Geckos which im extremely happy with! Can’t wait to see how he turns out as he ages. Will put pics up in a few days, I think he’s going into a shed at the moment.
As a side note, delighted to see the forum back again

Hi Ian, excited to see the direction you take with the line as well. I’ll follow your posts avidly and will annoy you for some morph advice/chat along the way
