Reptile Community trust levels are a system within our platform that regulates user access and privileges based on their activity and engagement within a community. These levels are designed to balance community safety with granting increasing access and responsibilities to active, trusted users.
Trust Levels:
TL0: New: Brand new users with limited access and privileges.
TL1: Basic: Basic user with limited access and privileges.
TL2: Member: Users who have demonstrated a basic level of engagement and activity.
TL3: Regular: Users who are actively participating, consistently visiting the forum, reading, and liking content.
TL4: Leader: Users granted near-moderator privileges by staff due to their trustworthiness and contributions.
Promotion and Demotion:
Moving from TL0 to TL3 is typically automatic based on user activity and engagement.
Here’s a breakdown of the requirements for each trust level:
- Trust Level 0 (New User):
This is the default level for all new users. They have limited permissions.
- Trust Level 1 (Basic):
To reach this level, users typically need to:

Spend a minimum amount of time reading posts (e.g., 60 minutes).

View a certain percentage of topics and posts (e.g., 25% of topics and posts created in the last 100 days).

Visit the forum on a certain percentage of days (e.g., 50% of days).

Trust Level 2 (Member):
Achieved by demonstrating further engagement and positive contribution.
- Trust Level 3 (Regular):
Users need to be consistently active and helpful. Specific requirements often include:

Replying to at least 10 different non-PM (private message) topics.

Receiving a certain number of likes and giving a certain number of likes (e.g., receiving 20 likes and giving 30 likes).

Maintaining a positive flag history (e.g., not receiving more than 5 spam or offensive flags).

Being active for a certain number of days and visiting a certain percentage of days.

Trust Level 4 (Leader):
This is the highest trust level and requires significant contributions and a long history of positive engagement.
